6. Little pricey, $30.

Nice camp site however I do have a couple complaints.

2. Grill butts up against the tent site. (If you have a flare up or a spark flys up it could hit your tent.

3. Not close to other campers.

1. Tons of deer to see.

Van Pugh South is a U.S Corps of Engineers campground that is open to the public. For the most part of the sites are tiny and seem to accommodate one small tent or RV but site 52 is the largest and has a water hookup across the street from it but it is a nonelectric site and they do ask that you do not flush the tanks of your RV with the water hookup at the dumpster area. They offer access to a range of activities with every site waterfront so fishing is as easy as 123. No catch and release restrictions. If you're planning on going out on the water, they even have a boat ramp access. All in all we give it a 4 for beauty but the sites could be a little bigger.

Beautiful. Simply put, the best campgrounds in the east metro area.

4. Table was covered in leaves and tree seed pods. (No prep before we got there)

5. If it was raining there is a run off that would have flooded our tent. (No rain thank God)

3. Fire pitt was filled with cigarette butts. Gross! Was close to tent.

1. Sites are tight for a 6 person tent (tent sleeps 4 comfortably)

6. Has a boat ramp, camper sites, restrooms, laundry, showers.

5. Staff was nice.

We always reserve a site on a point each summer. The campsites between lots 27-38 seem to be calmer and the sound of the water helps to knock everyone out at night. Clean shower/bathroom areas for the most part, clean campsites and helpful staff.

Lots of good things though.

Campground is very nice and well run, bathrooms are decent. We had site 8 which has nice waterfront and is good for swimming. It would have been perfect except for two things. It seems that the small islands directly across from our site are a popular place for houseboats and other boats to park and hang out all day. Which wouldn't have been a problem if they hadn't been blasting their music until 11 pm each day. Our other issue was the lack of gravel on the tent pad area. Our stuff is covered in red clay stains after a morning of rain.

4. Electric and water. (Bring a 50' extension cord)

2. Nice beaches
